At CIRCE, we strive to boost electric grid efficiency and ensure safety by acting upon its various components, including automation, control and protection systems, with the added goal of fostering the deployment of smart grids. Thanks to these efforts we are improving operation and enhancing overall system efficiency based on greater information and control, making it easier to respond in case of incidents and even anticipate them.

Within this field, one of our most thorough lines of research involves innovation in electric substations, where we are always looking for new solutions based on cutting-edge technology such as 3D modelling or magnetic field analysis, helping to develop prototypes for the substations of the future.

TECHNOLOGICAL SERVICES

  • RTDS testing

We conduct real-time lab simulations to assess how smart equipment will behave and interact when implemented in the electric grid before being marketed.

  • Grid studies

We boast a wealth of experience in simulating and modelling power electronics systems, and we have all of the tools needed to conduct any kind of test according to each client’s needs.

  • Substation engineering

We are specialists in power engineering and civil engineering standardization, as well as control and protection, standard set-ups in control and protection equipment, and preparing all of the documentation involved in an electric substation project.

  • Electromagnetic fields

Thanks to our proprietary validated software, we can conduct 3D simulations in high, medium or low voltage electric facilities and calculate electric fields to ensure compliance with specific regulatory requirements.

  • Electric supply reliability and continuity

We conduct all kinds of planning, coordination, analysis, review and maintenance studies on the grid’s protective system to ensure supply reliability and continuity in generation, transport and distribution grids.
