DESCRIPTION

Moving to a greener economy creates the need for new skills and competencies profiles, requiring the development of strong alliances for the adjustment of current training and qualification frameworks.

On the basis of a Quadruple Helix approach, this project aims to define and develop a training and accreditation scheme on green skills. This scheme will address professional, market and customer barriers that stand in the way for the consolidation of Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy Systems (RES) and nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB). It will be based on on-site and on-line training, transversally incorporating BIM and LEAN methodology. Specifically, the project will:

  • Improve skills of workers from the construction industry on EE, RES and nZEB.
  • Promote cooperation and understanding between the different trades and professional groups.
  • Develop a new standard of sectoral competencies on EE, RES and nZEB following the methodology EQF (learning outcome approach) as well as ECVET and quality criteria EQUAVET.
  • Develop a new “Energy Audit” qualification.
  • Foster the specialization of SMEs in sustainable construction and its leadership in the market.
  • Certify skills by creating the accreditation “Green tag” to promote interaction and collaboration between stakeholders.
  • Encourage innovation and improvement of work processes in regard to customer relations, workers and SMEs.

OBJETIVES

Build 2020+ aims to take a further step in the transition towards a sustainable, efficient and competitive construction industry through the updated training methodology and in the field of recognition of green skills. The specific objectives of the project are:

  • To develop a common and updated training framework based on the five-fold Helix model of innovation.
  • To train the workers and technicians in the competences related to EE, EERR and nZEB.
  • Involve girls in construction to lead a sustainable construction market and the training of workers.
  • Create a new standard of sectorial competencies for professionals in the sector, which recognizes knowledge about EE, EERR and nZEB.
  • Develop a new energy auditor qualification.
  • Develop effective awareness raising, dissemination and knowledge transfer actions for all project actions to have an impact on key stakeholders and their target groups.
