The Aragonese technology center will present the results of the H2020 uP_running project to enhance the use of pruning and renewal of plantations in bioeconomics
CIRCE, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and ASAJA Huesca organize on June 12 a day in Madrid on rural development through the promotion of biomass as a source of energy. In this way, the event will serve to disseminate the results of the Horizon 2020 uP_running program project, which CIRCE has coordinated over the past three years and will conclude this June.
With the help of the uP_running project, the value of agricultural pruning and the renewal of plantations in bioeconomics will be known and the success stories in the use of woody biomass of olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees as an energy source will be explained.
In addition, in this appointment the Ministry will present the strategic framework of the bioeconomy and the opportunities presented in the new CAP (Common Agricultural Policy). The event will also feature various guests who will bring a vision of biomass from the European point of view, as well as the R & D & I opportunities presented.
Similarly, other initiatives focused on circular bioeconomics in the agricultural sector will be presented, both executed by supra-autonomous operational groups and by cooperatives, energy entities, etc.
