CIRCE launches the sixth edition of the most extensive course in Spain on the IEC61850 standard, focused on communications for substations and applicable to Smart Grids, electric vehicles or renewable energy

The IEC 61850 standard is already considered as the communication standard established in the world market for substation automation. This protocol is presented as a unified solution to ensure interoperability between different manufacturers, resulting in an improvement in the automation of the electricity grid and energy supply. Its advantages make it one of the main standards of the Smart Grid model, transcending its original scope.

For several years, CIRCE has taught a specialized course in IEC 61850 to respond to the current needs of companies, and thus deal with the evolution of the automation of the electricity grid by incorporating information and communications technologies.

This year CIRCE has launched the 6th edition of the course “Communications for the control and protection systems of electrical substations, Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles and renewable energies. IEC 61850 ”, which every year arouses more interest among companies and electrical professionals, not only at the national level, but also in Europe and Latin America.

Through the course it contributes to the training and specialization of professionals who wish to expand their knowledge in substation automation systems and new communication technologies, sectors that continue to experience continuous growth.

The title is one of the few existing in Spain that delves into the details of the standard, both from a theoretical and practical approach. In addition its 125 hours of duration make it the most extensive nationwide in this area, covering all the details about the standard, the benefits for companies, new configurations and architectures, the design in IEC 61850 of the control operations and its application in other areas beyond substations.

Its content is backed by CIRCE’s experience in the realization of real projects, and has expert researchers who will provide continuous assistance and supervision to students. To facilitate the monitoring of professionals and students, the study is taught online, with recorded classes so that students can access them at any time.

The 6th edition of the course will begin on April 24 and has special rates for university students, unemployed or groups of workers.
