DESCRIPTION

Developing energy from sea waves involves creating a new area with great strength in the field of renewable energy and supporting the community goal of achieving 12% of primary energy from Renewable Energy sources in 2010, and 20% in 2020. The project looks at building and locating two technological devices or useable products in the sea to satisfy existing demand. This consists in: a) An autonomous device for sea observation and surveillance (prototype with 5kW installed power) which will also optimise the system, and will act as a prototype and first step towards the creation of the next device. b) An energy buoy (prototype with 200kW installed power).

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the INNPACTO Wave Energy Project is to develop and demonstrate the usefulness of R+D+i projects based on APC- PISYS technology from PIPO Systems by building and locating two technological devices or useable products in the sea to satisfy existing demand. With this demonstration, the aim is to turn this technology into an international reference point in the tidal power industry and spread its use over different social economic sectors, as well as supporting national energy systems by means of a more constant collection and generation of renewable energy, therefore making processes with high energy consumption (sea water desalting, etc.) more self-sufficient in terms of energy.
