DESCRIPTION

The CRAVE project intends to turn vehicles and their charging systems into stabilising elements in the electrical system, since the post will be able to temporarily separate charging from the electric grid, avoid peaks in electrical consumption, provide stability in the grid and enable a great number of charging systems at once. The project has a budget of € 500,000 and will last two years. CIRCE presented the research project at the Novare Awards, organised by Endesa every two years for the international scientific community, resulting in it being one of the four winning projects (out of over 32 candidates sent from different universities, science labs and companies from Spain, Chile, Columbia and Japan), more specifically in the category of “Energy Storage” in the third edition of the awards.

OBJECTIVES

The goal is to design a quick charge electric vehicle which enables energy storage and integrates renewable energy, with the aim of helping system management
