STORAGE SYSTEMS WITH HIGH CAPACITY, EFFICIENCY AND SCALABILITY

We are looking to develop new electricity storage systems using the latest in technology and materials. Our goal is to produce high-capacity and -efficiency systems that are easily scalable with good market implementation potential.

At the same time, we are considering how to combine these systems with others such as renewable distributed generation sources for microgrids, as well as the potential applications and environments in which they could be used. One example would be domestic storage in combination with renewable sources, or electric vehicle charging stations featuring both generation and storage.

As well as domestic applications, we are also analysing how to use these systems in the industrial sector by adapting them to each situation thanks to our energy management systems.

We design microgrids that integrate renewable energy sources and storage. They can either be connected to the grid or free-standing.

CIRCE is in charge of coordinating the storage working group of the European Technology and Innovation Platform – Smart Networks for Energy Transition, as well as being a member of the Spanish Electric Grid Platform’s storage working group.

Innovative battery storage project for Viesgo

 

CIRCE is working in collaboration with one of the benchmark companies in the storage sector, Albufera Energy Storage, on an innovative project to supply, install and run the Storage System of the Spanish Control Centre owned by Viesgo.

Winners of the 1st GRID2030 Programme of the Spanish Electric Grid

 

The Flexible Smart Transformer project earned CIRCE first prize at the 1st edition of the GRID2030 programme driven by the Spanish Electric Grid to support technological initiatives that will enhance the operation of the system and transport network.
