Resumen:

The technology development in renewable energy and storage systems will bring a revolution to the electricity system, losing the dependency on big far-from consumption-point generators, that have huge maintenance costs and losses related to the long-distance electricity transportation, as well as the required voltage transformation. Next-to-consumption-point generation should help to improve the quality of electricity service to consumers. This textbook is a compilation of the lessons of the Renewable Energy Grid Integration and Distributed Generation Diploma offered by CIRCE. This study can be found as a specialisation of the European master offered by EUREC (European Association of Renewable Energy Research Centres) given by a consortium of European universities. In this second volume some of the basic aspects of renewable energy generation are described. Furthermore, storage technologies will be explained considering their essential development for the success of distributed generation and renewable energy.
