The main objective of the present thesis is to contribute into the realm of the thermoeconomic diagnosis through the proposal of an alternative method to separate induced malfunctions, in particular those induced by other malfunctioning components, from intrinsic malfunctions, as explained above. Thus building up a diagnostic tool for steam generators. The application to the steam generator is particularly interesting inthe sense that it is a component where all physical phenomena converge, for example, radiation, combustion, convection and conduction, in particular in the furnace chamber, therefore making the diagnosis a difficult one.
