CIRCE joins AEDIVE to strengthen collaboration within the electric mobility ecosystem

El centro tecnológico pone a disposición de las empresas del sector servicios de diseño, ensayo y validación para acelerar el desarrollo de soluciones de recarga

The technology centre CIRCE has formalised its membership in the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE) , with the aim of strengthening ties with key stakeholders in the sector, gaining first-hand insight into their challenges and needs, and contributing to the development of technological solutions that foster more sustainable, efficient and intelligent mobility.

With this incorporation, CIRCE reinforces its commitment to the energy transition and consolidates its leadership in power electronics applied to electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Collaboration with AEDIVE will enable the creation of synergies, the sharing of technical knowledge, and the acceleration of innovation transfer to industry.

Technological capabilities serving the sector

CIRCE supports companies in the development of electric vehicle charging technologies, from design and prototyping stages to final verification, helping to reduce technical uncertainties and accelerate the validation of solutions before market deployment.

A significant part of this work focuses on bidirectional charging (V2G/V2V) and its integration into the power system. In this field, CIRCE develops and tests solutions related to DC microgrids and battery energy storage systems to facilitate renewable energy integration and improve grid resilience.

In addition, the centre conducts charging and discharging efficiency tests, loss analysis, and validation of grid support functionalities to ensure the reliable integration of charging infrastructure.

Testing, pre-certification and interoperability

In the areas of communications, control and regulatory compliance, CIRCE’s laboratory provides advisory services and performs IEC 61851 pre-certification testing , as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and power quality tests.

Furthermore, CIRCE assesses interoperability between vehicles and charging stations in accordance with standards such as CCS, CHAdeMO and OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) , replicating real charging sessions and validating different operational models to ensure consistent performance in real-world environments.

CIRCE also has extensive experience in wireless charging (static and dynamic inductive charging), with more than 20 years of expertise and over 10 electric vehicle projects in power ranges from 30 to 90 kW.

Through its membership in AEDIVE, CIRCE makes these capabilities available to associated companies, actively contributing to strengthening sector competitiveness and accelerating the deployment of advanced charging infrastructure in Spain and across Europe.
