Description and objectives
The solution leverages the thermal inertia of freezing chambers to optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and participate in collective flexibility mechanisms.
The project will be demonstrated at the pilot company Gestockal (Alhama de Murcia), while other food industry companies with refrigeration and freezing needs will also take part in workshops to adapt and replicate the solution.
Main objectives:
- Develop advanced algorithms for energy control and cost optimization.
- Integrate IoT technologies for energy management of cold storage systems.
- Maximize renewable energy usage through flexible load management.
- Design and validate a system ready to participate in demand response mechanisms and flexibility markets.
- Explore and validate innovative business models for commercialization of the solution.

Value proposition
- Implementation of technological innovation in a strategic sector such as agri-food cold storage.
- Reduction of energy costs and increase of energy efficiency and resilience.
- Alignment with decarbonization and energy transition strategies.
- Creation of a replicable model for other companies in the sector.
