Description and objectives

The transition from fossil-based linear systems to circular and bio-based systems represents a key opportunity to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Circular bio-based systems make it possible to reconcile sustainable economic growth with environmental protection through the responsible use of renewable resources.

However, this transformation requires not only technological innovation but also social, economic, and political change. In this context, SUSTRACK aims to support European policymakers in developing sustainable pathways to replace fossil-based and carbon-intensive systems with circular and bio-based ones, thereby contributing to the European Green Deal.

The project seeks to identify the environmental, economic, and social limits of the current linear economy, improve assessment methodologies, and provide policy recommendations based on comparative transition scenarios.

Value proposition

  • Development of methodologies and tools to assess the impacts of the transition toward circular and bio-based systems.
