CIRCE launches its first in-house artificial intelligence program to accelerate real technology solutions

With the aim of activating internal talent and responding to major technological challenges from an innovative perspective, CIRCE - Technology Center has launched a pioneering program for the development of projects based on artificial intelligence. This initiative, which began in March, promotes collaboration between areas and the exploration of technological solutions with real application potential.
For weeks, 15 multidisciplinary teams have been working on the design and prototyping of disruptive ideas covering areas as diverse as renewable energy, industrial automation, predictive analytics or operational efficiency. Yesterday, during the CIRCE IA Talks event, the developed projects were presented and the finalist teams were selected to compete in the final phase of the program, in which the winning team will advance towards the pilot implementation of its solution.
The launch of this unique program in its approach within the national technological environment reflects CIRCE's commitment to artificial intelligence as a strategic lever of digital transformation, from its own knowledge and with an eye on real application.
More than 100 people have participated in this collaborative experience, in teams composed of AI specialists, Industry and Energy professionals, Electrical Systems, technical units and emerging talent from CIRCE Academy. This organizational model fostered a culture of transversal collaboration, ambitious thinking and impact-oriented innovation.
Prototypes with a clear focus on business needs
The prototypes presented stand out for their high level of innovation, applicability and practical approach. In all of them, artificial intelligence plays a central role as a technological engine, applied from multiple perspectives: optimization of the performance of energy infrastructures, intelligent automation of complex industrial processes, data processing or real-time decision making, or anticipation of operational scenarios through advanced machine learning models, among others.
This evaluation process is in the hands of a jury made up of leading figures from the technological, institutional and business ecosystem of Aragon: Federico Asensio (Saica Group), Luis Correas (Fertinagro), José Luis Latorre (Integra), María del Mar Paños and Santiago Marín (Government of Aragon), Blanca Solans (Zaragoza City Council), together with Andrés Llombart and Elena Calvo, director and deputy director of CIRCE, respectively.
The value driving change: people, talent and vision
Beyond the technological results, this program has been an opportunity to highlight the talent that drives CIRCE from within. The involvement, creativity and collaborative capacity demonstrated by the participating teams confirm that knowledge and innovation are part of the DNA of the technology center.
In recognition of the collective effort, the program will reward the winning team with an on-site summer experience in the USA, while the finalist teams will receive specialized training in artificial intelligence at prestigious international universities. An initiative that reinforces CIRCE's commitment to continue promoting the development of internal talent and projecting it towards new strategic challenges, as a driver of a future where artificial intelligence will be key to meet the challenges of the energy and digital transition.
