WHEN A RESOURCE’S ECONOMIC AND ECOLOGICAL FLOW BECOMES A CLOSED CYCLE, THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF HUMAN ACTIVITIES DECREASES AND NEW BUSINESS MODELS ARISE

The goal of applying circular economy strategies is to create intelligent and sustainable growth by taking actions to keep up the value of our resources, materials and products for as long as possible and put them back into the value chain to round off financial and ecological cycles.

Our aim is to help turn linear chains into circular cycles by researching and developing new solutions to obtain more sustainable, high added value products and services, which in turn will boost financial growth and employment.

To achieve this aim, we collaborate with entities in all sorts of sectors, from farming to the vehicle industry, acting on every link in their value chains. This means everything from studying how to optimize the use of resources (energy and raw materials) to developing new eco-design formulas such as replacing certain raw materials for less critical alternatives or introducing the concepts of reuse and recycling in the design process. As a result, we are able to lessen the amount of waste right from the beginning by turning what used to be refuse into raw materials for other process, as is the case with energy reuse.

LINES OF BUSINESS

null

USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES

We are analysing the way raw materials are used in productive processes to find alternatives that would reduce their environmental impact and drive competitiveness, as well as enhancing the management of resources like water.

null

SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY AND ECO-LABELLING

We are trying new formulas to promote a greener economy where both suppliers and consumers pay special attention to the environmental aspects of products, services and activities.

null

REDUCING EMISSIONS AND WASTE

CIRCE is considering ways for productive processes to mitigate their carbon footprint by cutting down on waste generation and especially contaminant emissions from combustion processes.
